Eternity…
Matthew 3:2 says Repent ye, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Let’s not wait a minute longer, because the next minute may be too late.
There are four things in our life that we have absolutely no control of.
- Which day we were born
- Who your parents are
- Someday you will die
- You have an eternal soul
We are all bound for eternity, whether we are right with God or not. So what are we going to do with our life? The choice is yours… If we decide to do nothing we will be lost forever. Our eternal destination will be in that horrible, bottomless pit called hell. Revelations 14:2 say and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. John 3:3 says Jesus answered and said unto him, “verily verily I say unto you, except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
THE GOOD NEWS
But Jesus died for you! No matter what you have done or who you are, God loves you so much that He sent His only son to die for you so that we do not need to spend eternity in hell. He is offering us the gift of salvation. Will we accept it?
Are you tired of living a defeated life? Do you want to spend eternity in Heaven? Are you afraid to die? Do you feel lost? Maybe you have always lived a good life, respecting your parents and your church. Maybe you never did terrible things but you never accepted God’s free gift of salvation.
THE STEPS
How do we accept this free gift of salvation? Romans 3:23 says, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. It doesn’t matter who we are or where we have come from, we all have failed and we all have sinned because we are born with a sin nature.
Once we recognize we have a sin problem we need to confess our sins to God and repent of it. Acts 3:19 say Repent therefor and be converted that your sins may be blotted out. 1 John 1:19 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. When we confess our sins we need to believe that God forgives our sins because Jesus dies for us. John 3:16 says For God so loved the world that He gave his only son that whosoever (put your name here) believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
FORGIVEN
If you have taken these steps you are forgiven! You are a child of God as long as you remain faithful. We can’t judge our experience by how we feel. Satan will not stop trying to discourage you.
After we become a child of God we will want to live a changed life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature; old things are passed away, behold all things are become new. We will want to read the Bible and spend time talking to God. Meet with God every day through the word of God, the Bible. His words is like a love letter to you. the more you read it, the more you will fall in love with Him.
Prayer is your connection with God. Prayer is like a telephone line that goes directly to God. it’s important to spend time talking to God every day. The more the better.
